Dear Customers,
Following the new Low Sulphur regulation guided by IMO(International Maritime
Organization), carriers are obligated to use marine fuel oil with Sulphur contents not
exceeding 0.5% starting from 1st of January 2020.
Bunker price of VLSFO 0.5%(Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil) is higher than current fuel
type(Sulphur content of 3.5%) and carriers are preparing to use the new VLSFO considering
the bunker supply arrangement plans of each vessel.
As the IMO regulation is applied to all regions, the new surcharge will also be introduced
to CK LINE South East Asia to Korea container service to recover the additional operating cost.
